Albany Records announces the
release of "IMPETUOSITIES: MUSIC OF JOSHUA
ROSENBLUM" (Troy 571), a collection of chamber and vocal
works by Joshua
Rosenblum, composer of the Off-Broadway musical "Fermat's
Last Tango," and
the forthcoming "Einstein's Dreams," based on the best-selling
novel by Alan
Lightman.
The disc features solo performances by Philip Smith (trumpet),
Kathleen
Nester (flute), Daniel Culpepper (horn), Marilyn Gibson (violin),
Joanne
Lessner (soprano), and Chris Thompson (baritone), as well as
Joseph Turrin
(piano), The Herrick Trio, The Shubert Alley Horns, and the Nobles
of the
Mystic Shrine Wind Band. The composer is also featured
as pianist on the
recording, which was produced by Tim Peierls.
